Goroka show on

THE Goroka show is on. Show goers, performance troups, tourists, local visitors, PMV ooperators, vendors and everyone else have been assured and asked to get themselves prepared for the big event next weekend. SP Brewery and the National Gaming Control Board are the latest corporate sponsors with K20,000 and K10,000 respectively. The European Union donated K3,000 in kind. The signals of doom were knocking on the door for the famous show three weeks ago when the Goroka Chamber of Commerce as managers threw in the towel and walked out. A number of stakeholders took it upon themselves to reorganise the annual event. Last week Coca Cola Amatil gave K20,000; Provincial Government, PNG Japan Association and Ramu Agri-Industries gave K10,000 each.

Jaiks, I think you hit the nail on the head. Those who have been placed in roles of responsibility do not take pride in their work. Hence, the influx of pests and their by-products!!! We are being used as a dump site while their take advanrage of our ignorance!!!

Over tp you all,

Juat want to comment about what Ceds Aiyura mentioned below, about the Asians coming into the country. Well this migration process is quite rooted and like corruption , its systematic. Its not their fault they are here so we shouldnt hate them. It all goes back to the 'big guns' up there. When I say that, I mean, to the gatekeepers ( which are the politicians, diplomats, police officers, and even our court system). They are the ones that open our gates to such people. They give the final Yes. They are the ones that recieve money under the table and the ones that lack a sense of dignity and patriotism for our country. ANd because of their dishonesty and selfishness we are faced with such social problems that in turn have an effect on our economy which as a result alleviates poverty. To answer his question, I dont think there is an easy solution to this problem, as it is very difficult when the very people who are suppose to be doing their job to protect our Intergrity and terriorial soverignity are doing the opposite and idulging thermselves in 'gris moni'....What we need is a change of mindset. Unless we can change our approach towards life and everything else can we live a better life and have a prosperous country.

Hey... just wanna leave somtin here to ponder over. Do you people like to see Chinese businesses growing in our Province? The thing I hate about them is that, they only sell fake stuffs. It makes me feel like I'm living in a fantasy world!... where you buy things wear them overnight and its already worned out before you even enjoy the pain of you labour! Mipla wok lo waistim moni lo ol stap ya, rausim ol na ol go! But the thing here now is HOW?
